Bertha - imo 8137500
Hi all,
I got a request from our skipper Ulli, who owned her for some time, if somebody would know of her fate. He only got the information that she was sold to the Netherlands, maybe to be converted into a sailing ship. Thank you very much in advance for your efforts Pictures and information of her can be viewed at Shipspotting.com http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/...hp?lid=1023093

Hi Dierk
BERTHA (1909 Sietas) was sold to the Netherlands in 2012 (Fate unknown) https://www.emderzeitung.de/emden/~/...rieb-ein-39267 ================================================== ==== The information on shipspotting.com is incorrect, the shipyard is correct(Sietas 1909). Former name(s) are incorrect, names are from the 1909 vessel built by Johannes Thormählen, Elmshorn. Since 1997 Restaurant Ship CAPT'N SCHILLOW in Berlin http://www.capt.schillow.de/ BERTA, built in 1909 by John. Thormählen in Elmshorn, most recently listed as EILAND in Norderney. This ship was sold in 1984 to Emden and used as Club-ship of the Emden Yacht Club - vessel name was ENGELKE UP DE Muer. Since 1997 the vessel is the Restaurant Ship CAPT'N SCHILLOW in Berlin. http://translate.google.co.uk/transl...40%26bih%3D698

Bertha
As far as I can find out then there are many vessels called Bertha going back to the beginning of last century.
Here is a photo which may indicate one of them from that era. The photo on ship spotting does not look like a hundred year old hull, but then again I am not an expert. Here is a photo I found the other day, Regards, Jan |

Hi Dierk
I have solved the mystery of the Bertha. I have seen her this evening. She is moored just below Maldon in Essex on the River Blackwater and can be seen from Heybridge Basin. Kind regards Paul |
