Default Gullfoss imo 5138046

Constructed by B and W Copenhagen in 1950 for the Iceland ferry company: Eimsipafelag.
GRT 3858 DWT 1850 108 c 14.5 m.
She operated between the Baltic companies and was sold to Jeddah interest in 1974 and renamed MECCA.

In November 1973 she was converted to carry 1100 pilgrims, and renamed "Mecca". In January 1974 she arrived in Jeddah and operated the 160 nmi (300 km) route between Jeddah (port for Mecca, 86 km (53 mi) away), Hodeidah (Yemen) and Port Sudan for Orri Navigation until she caught fire in the Red Sea on 19 December 1976, drifted onto a reef and sank next day.
